How Steward's Quest Came to Be
I could feel my parents stress…
We were out of grocery money again. Then Mom’s cousin brought us a dozen bags of tater tots. This was a blessing from paying tithing.
I don’t want to struggle with money like my parents. I became determined to live debt-free.
That’s why I started teaching teens. Stewards Quest is an online personal finance workshop for teens.
The Workshop
Steward’s Quest is a workshop where Latter-day Saint high school students will be taken on a journey to learn how to become wise stewards of their resources in an fun and interactive way. Each lesson will focus on a different aspect of money management taught through the lens of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Following each lesson, students will complete sections of their workbook that will help them apply the principles they learn. As part of their work, they will make plans for how to live a debt-free life and pay for future educational and life experiences they want.
After completing this workshop, students will:
- Have a system for tracking their spending
- Have a budget and a budgeting tool
- Gain a better idea of what they want to do for a career
- Have a plan for furthering their education
- Have a plan for how to pay for their education
